Responsible AI Policy
Last Updated: September 24th, 2026
Because the data entrusted to us is among the most sensitive a family holds, we hold our use of AI to the same standard of care as the rest of our platform.
Annise is a wealth intelligence platform built for individuals, families, family offices, and advisors. We use artificial intelligence to help our clients organize, understand, and act on complex financial information more efficiently. This policy explains how we use AI, how we protect your data when we do, and the commitments we make to our customers.
How We Use AI
Annise uses AI to support, not replace, the judgment of financial professionals and families. Current uses include:
-
Document Intelligence. Extracting and structuring data from statements, capital account statements, capital call notices, and other financial documents so they can be organized within the platform.
-
Summarization. Generating summaries of documents, notes, and recorded conversations to help users find and review information faster.
-
Data organization and insights. Classifying assets, identifying relationships across entities and owners, and surfacing information that may warrant a user's attention.
AI outputs within Annise are informational tools for our users, who remain responsible for decisions based on them.
Our Commitments
1. Client-specific data is never used to train AI models.
We do not use your data, documents, or content to train or improve AI models, whether our own or those of third parties. We may use de-identified and aggregated data — which cannot reasonably be linked to you, your family, your entities, or your accounts — to improve platform capabilities, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Human oversight.
AI-generated outputs, including extracted data and summaries, are designed to be reviewed by people. Where the platform extracts data automatically, we use confidence-based review so that uncertain results are routed for human verification rather than accepted silently.
3. Transparency.
We aim to make it clear when content in Annise has been generated or extracted by AI, so users can apply appropriate judgment.
4. Security and confidentiality.
AI features operate within the same security framework as the rest of the Annise platform, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that respect each client's permissions and tenancy, and audit logging. Data processed by AI features is only accessible to authorized users within your organization and people you grant access to.
5. Accuracy and limitations.
AI can make mistakes. Extracted figures, classifications, and summaries may be incomplete or incorrect. We continuously monitor and test the quality of our AI features, and we encourage users to verify important information against source documents.
6. Consequential decisions.
Annise does not use AI to make eligibility, credit, lending, insurance, or similar consequential decisions about individuals. Our AI features support your review and decision-making; they do not make decisions on your behalf.
Third-Party AI Providers
Annise may use carefully selected third-party AI and cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). We evaluate these providers for security, privacy, and data-handling practices, and we require that they:
-
Process data only to provide services to Annise
-
Do not use Annise client data to train their models
-
Maintain appropriate security safeguards
A current list of our subprocessors is available in our Trust Center.
Recordings and Voice Features
Where Annise offers voice capture or transcription features, recordings are made only when a user initiates them. Users are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law from participants before recording a conversation. Recordings and transcripts are handled under the same protections described in this policy and our
Privacy Policy.
Regulatory Alignment
Our clients operate in regulated environments. We design our AI practices to support their obligations, including recordkeeping, supervision, and data protection requirements. We monitor evolving guidance on AI in financial services and update our practices accordingly.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy as our products, technology, and legal requirements evolve. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
